How the Khilafah Will Liberate Palestine & Why Everything Else is a Distraction

On January 19th, a ceasefire between Hamas and the Zionist entity went into effect, leading to the exchange of prisoners between the two sides and the withdrawal of the settler forces from Gaza.
However, during this so-called ceasefire, the Zionist entity began carrying out fresh raids in the West Bank, with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) stating that the “forced displacement of Palestinian communities in the northern West Bank is escalating at an alarming pace.” As of February 10th, the Settlers forcibly displaced nearly 40,000 people from their homes!
A Ceasefire is Temporary
Despite this so-called ‘ceasefire’ agreement, the Zionist entity’s crimes against our noble Ummah are not only continuing, but are in fact, escalating. A ceasefire is just a temporary pause to the occupier’s oppression– and the Ummah’s enemies will break it whenever it suits their interests.
On the other hand, let us never forget that liberation is permanent, and the only way to achieve liberation is through re-establishing the Khilafah State.
Nothing we have done up to this point, has led to the liberation of Palestine, much less the liberation of the Ummah in Kashmir, East Turkestan, Caucasus, Burma, Sudan and many other occupied Muslim lands.
In fact, every time our Ummah experiences a dark chapter – such as the genocide we are witnessing live – Alhamdulilah, we never fail to rise up, whether through protests, boycotts, and refutations (against lies or propaganda). However, why is it that the outcome is always the same? We lose tens of thousands – if not hundreds of thousands – of our brothers and sisters. We lose more of our land, our resources, and our respect and dignity.
Just take a look at how the colonialist powers are treating Gaza today. Trump practically told the Ummah to leave the land so that he and his colonialist tools can rebuild it into an entertainment strip!
So, why are we stuck in this loop? Why is it that every time there is an assault upon the Ummah in Palestine and elsewhere that we keep losing more lives, more land, and more respect?
The reason why we keep finding ourselves on the losing end is because there is a lack of clarity on what exactly we are trying to achieve and how. Whenever the Ummah in Palestine try returning to their homes, settler soldiers shoot at them. When a child in Gaza cries, the settlers’ planes drop bombs on them. When we dare to just speak the truth, the settlers’ backers among the colonialist powers silence us. When we dare to act on the truth, the colonialists ban us.
So, how do we eliminate this gap? It is an important question because our goal should not be reactionary. Rather, we should first identify the problem, and work to solve it using the Islamic lens, especially when people’s time, wealth, energy, and lives are at stake.
The blessed Ummah of Rasul’Allah (SAW) is always ready to sacrifice. However, we should ask if we are being duped into sacrificing for the goals our enemies set for us, or for the solutions Allah (SWT) ordered us to implement?
The reality is that the slaughter in Gaza happened because our Ummah stood alone, without her state, the Khilafah, for over 100 years. For over a century, we suffered defeats, loss of life and humiliation because we kept fighting without the leadership of our Imam, who Rasul’Allah (SAW) said is a shield behind whom we ought to fight. We neglected to understand that entities like the UN or the ICC, or frameworks like the international law, were all designed by our enemies to oppress us – they are not neutral or just institutions meant to rule in fairness. In fact, the Ummah is supposed to be the one managing the world with justice through Islam.
So, it is now time to stop falling for the same traps and distractions over and over again. If we want victory, then know it will only come from Allah (SWT). And if we want Allah (SWT)’s victory, then we must carry out Allah (SWT)’s commands upon us – i.e., re-establish the Khilafah.
Once our Ummah restores the Khilafah, this is how the Khilafah will liberate Palestine:
Focusing on the Real Problem – America
The Zionist entity is not the main enemy of the ummah. In fact, it is not even the biggest enemy engaged in Palestine. That true enemy is America, the leading colonialist power.
The Zionist entity was created by the British empire and, today, it is backed by America. Hence it is just a creature of the colonialist powers, and fully protected by the tyrant regimes in the surrounding Muslim lands. The American politician, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., called the Zionist entity America’s “aircraft carrier in the Middle East.” The US itself literally views the Zionist entity as a military asset meant to project US policy in the region even if it entails basically bombing cities to the ground and murdering people by the thousands.
Therefore, the Khilafah will not just focus on the Zionist entity, but it will also work to resist the Zionists’ backers in America using all the resources Allah (SWT) has gifted our Ummah with.
How the Khilafah Will Liberate Palestine
The Khilafah’s approach starts with trusting in Allah (SWT), the Greatest Supporter and Planner we have. From there, the Khilafah will systematically implement each hukm or command of Allah (SWT) and purge America’s cancerous presence in the Muslim lands.
Respond Militarily
The first policy of the Khilafah is to militarily confront and end the armed Zionist occupation. Allah (SWT) commanded the Khalifah, the Imam, to organize and lead the Ummah in Jihad.
Rasul’Allah (SAW) said:
“Only the Imam is a shield, behind whom you fight, and you protect yourself with…” [Muslim]
From the day it returns, inshaAllah soon, the Khilafah will carry out Jihad, but as a state with a standing professional army, navy, and air force, each with courageous officers, properly trained soldiers, and modern equipment like tanks, fighter aircrafts, and warships.
So, when the settlers decide to terrorize our children in Gaza by bombing them from the air again, they will meet the Khilafah’s fighter planes in the skies. The next time the settlers plan on a “ground offensive,” they will face the Khilafah’s tanks and soldiers on land. The next time they even think of putting Gaza under siege, the Khilafah will force them back and besiege Tel Aviv instead.
Remove the Regimes
The second policy of the Khilafah will be to remove the tyrant regimes ruling our lands. Before America would directly act against the Khilafah, it will set these regimes upon it to stop it, or at least slow it down.
The Khilafah will sweep these regimes to the side. The Ummah has only hatred for the rulers. Just look at how the Ummah humiliated Hasina by driving her out of Bangladesh, even though she had ruled with an iron grip for 15 years. Or look at how the Ummah drove Assad out of Syria, even though his family brutalized the country for 50 years. The moment there is an opening, the Ummah has the potential to remove the rulers.
The regimes are aware of this reality as well. That is why in Pakistan, for example, the regime throttles or slows down the internet knowing full well it would hurt businesses. Why? To stop people from discussing ideas or organizing politically. Likewise, the regime in Egypt is trying to build a new capital in the desert so that it can physically distance itself from the Ummah.
In fact, most of the regimes have lost the trust of their own officers and soldiers, so they use groups of thugs they call “secret police” to enforce their rule on the Ummah instead.
Just as the Ummah jumped on small openings in Bangladesh and Syria to drive change, the Khilafah will create large openings to encourage the sincere officers, soldiers, business people, judges, and other influentials to quickly remove the regimes and rejoin with the rest of the Ummah under the shade of the Khilafah.
Reunify the Muslim Lands
The next policy of the Khilafah is to reunify the Muslim lands. By reunifying the Muslim lands, the Khilafah gains control of over 1/3 of the world’s energy supply through vast oil and gas reserves, and 3 of the 5 busiest shipping routes for world trade.
As the Khilafah removes each regime, it chips away at America’s economic strength, which exists in a large part because it steals resources from our lands, and our wealth. Furthermore, the Ummah will also gain leverage over Europe and China as they too rely on the same wealth and shipping routes. Thus, the Khilafah will give the Ummah real power in international affairs.
Mobilize the Ummah’s Wealth
As the Khilafah reunifies the Muslim lands, it will also put the Ummah’s resources to proper use. For example, some $600 billion dollars’ worth of oil and gas revenue comes out each year from the lands in the Arabic peninsula and Iraq.
These resources will go into building the military of the Ummah, from manufacturing new fighter planes to building new ships to creating air defense systems to shield our cities.
Challenge America
Finally, the Khilafah will take each of the policies mentioned above and use them to directly and aggressively challenge America, the root problem fueling the Zionist occupation of Palestine.
For example, by the Khilafah reclaiming its considerable energy wealth there will be shockwaves through the Capitalist system likely to result in an economic crash. Investment bankers will start selling assets to minimize losses – as they know that they no longer will have access to the wealth of the Ummah for free. These shocks will weaken America’s ability to fund its military and, in turn, will spiral the US into deeper political and economic problems.
Americans will further distrust their government and, as importantly, the shocks resulting from the rise of the Khilafah will force each American state to favour itself above the Union. In fact, the Khilafah will force every country on Earth to cooperate on the Ummah’s terms.
No country can trade unless their ships pass the Khilafah’s lands and seas. Few countries can keep their homes warm or their factories going without the Ummah’s oil and gas. Likewise, most will need the markets of the Ummah to keep their own economies going, so will look to align their trade and currency rules with those of Islam–and away from Capitalism.
With these shifts, the Khilafah will raise the Ummah into the status of an influential great power. A great power that will work to end poverty and hunger globally. A world power that will deal with all others justly and fairly. A world power that fights oppression with strength, not just words. And a world power that is not afraid of confronting the colonialist powers.
Focusing on the Real Problem – America
This piece is merely a surface reading of 5 policies the Khilafah will implement to liberate Palestine and all the occupied Muslim lands. However, each one of them emanates from Islam and nothing else. Take these 5 policies and review them against the proclamations of the regimes of the Muslim lands, like Türkiye, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan.
See that these policies truly offer a method that envisions a real solution, and that it is not more of the same defeatist mentality. Start incorporating these 5 policies into your own activism and into your chants. Direct your voices and protests back to the Muslim lands so that, inshaAllah, the changemakers there will hear it and use it as an inspiration to start the real liberation movement of our Ummah.
