The ‘death of Jahiliyyah’ is an indication that it is prohibited to die without having the pledge of allegiance upon one’s neck. This then follows that it is a fard (obligation) for the Muslims to give this allegiance to a Khalifah to avoid this sin. This means that the Khalifah needs to be in existence in order to give him the pledge. This isn’t an issue only for those Muslims who are working for the re-establishment of the Khilafah.…
